Take Two

Well last week for my birthday dinner I wanted a sort of southern
meal. Mash potatos, peas and green beans, (because Jenn doesn't like
peas she makes green beans for herself) and fried chicken. So Jenn
starts making the dinner and I'm sitting on the coutch playing on my
iPhone. All of the sudden I look in the kitchen and see flames coming
up from the stove. So I jump off the coutch and run over and basically
save the day. So needless to say we went out later that night. Well
for Christmas I bought Jenn and electric skillet so she could rid
herself of her fear of cooking fried chicken. So today a week later we
are at it again. This time with an electric skillet and a fire
extinguisher on hand.

A Dead Snowman

The other day I got home from church before Jenn and saw that Matilda
had chewed the head off of one of Jenns snowmen. Well I cleaned up the
mess the dog made and now all snowmen are out of reach of the dog. Now
we need to attach the head back on the snowman. Funny to me......sad
for Jenn.

First Service

Tonight was Awaken's first service. It was so cool to finally be at
this point worshiping with people that we have been praying for since
January of '09. Can't wait to see God move in this city. Just glad to
be a small part in God's great plan for this city.

Does she even see me?

I went to pick up my little Sis at the Nashville airport the other day
and as I stood there I noticed that she was looking all around for me.
She looked over my way a few times but it never clicked for her that
it was me. So when she text me where I was I said right in front of
her face. That's when she finally saw me. No matter what color she may
color her hair she will always be a blond at heart.

Workin Hard

For the past few days Kevin, Denver, and I have been working hard to
get the church building ready for our first service. We've sanded,
primer, painted, and cleaned up the building. It's been hard work but
so rewarding to see how much better it looks now. These pics are what
I looked like after sanding for over an hour or so. Good thing I had
that mask.

I can't stop laughing

Denver came over this afternoon. Denver works nights and hasn't slept
until this afternoon when he crashed out on my couch. The reason I
can't stop laughing is becasue he woke up all excited and
said,"WHAT!!!!" to me in a really loud voice. It scared me. Then while
putting on his shoes he said,"where are we going!!" I looked at him so
confused. Then he just laid down. Just a few minutes ago he just asked
me if the tile was slippery. Not wanting to waste an opportunity to
have some fun while he was sleeping I said no it wasn't slippery. As
if I were his employee and he was the boss of a corporation for 23
years, he said in such a comanding voice to check it again. I really
can't stop laughing. I love the fact that he is sleeping here right now.

Nertz

One thing I love is playing a game called nertz. But what I really
love is playing it with Kevin, Jenn, Denver, and Jenn W. It's always
crazy and everytime we play I laugh so hard that my jaws hurt and
cramp up. Love the game but most of all love the peeps I play it with.

Shake Time

After our eighth and final summer park outreach of 2009 we all went to
steak and shake where Jenn and I decided to share a shake. Sadly this
was the only time I got a sip of it. All I can say is this will be
the last time we will split one unless we get a glass on the side to
divide it equally.

Man Ministry

Man Ministry is a time that Denver Kevin and I sit down and talk about
things we've read in a book we are going through and talk about some
theology stuff for the church. Good times and great discussions. I
really enjoy getting together with these guys.

Church working

On Friday was a church work day. People we have met in our park
outreaches and at the home fellowship we have on Wednesday night came
out to help us clean up the church and start building some rooms for
our kids ministry. This was only part one of our efforts. We still
need to do some stuff to it but it is all taking shape. It's so cool
to see how it is all coming along.

Not in New Mexico anymore

Jenn and I went shopping the other day and this little area of the
store called Mexican was full of tortillas. However they taste like
cardboard. This town had much to learn.

Look to the mullet

One thing I've noticed out here in Tennessee is that people love to do
things in their front yards. I don't understand why they do this.
Aren't they worried that thier kids will get run over by other cars?
To me that's what back yards are for. People out here should look to
the mullet, afterall some of the people out here have them. What I
mean is that they should treat their backyards like a
mullet.......business in the front, party in the back. Espicially to
the family that lives across the street from Kevin and Jenn, that guy
should not be allowed to wear that shot of shorts.

Chocolate cake

After watching a fresh prince of belair episode that had chocolate
cake in it, I really was craving some. So I asked Jenn if she would
make a cake. Well I'm glad she agreed because I can't get chocolate
cake out of my head.

Park outreach

Yesterday was another one of our park outreaches. This one was by far
one of the best ones we had. Many people came out and two people even
gave their lives to Christ. This was also the first time we ran out of
food. It's so cool to see how God is moving and working through these
outreaches.

Steak stealer

One day Denver and I made some nice juicy sirloin steaks. We had
turned our backs for just a second and Matilda had eatin two of
Denvers sirloin steaks. I think that's been her best meal her whole
life!!!!

Weather alterts

So the weather altert radio that we bought has been going off 7 times
in the past half hour telling of bad weather in Kentucky. So I decided
to turn on the tv and see if it's coming my way. Looks like we will be
getting some rain at 10pm tonight.

Drooling

This is the face I look at everytime I eat. However, today I was
eating some pretzels and looking at this face and as she was looking
at me I saw drool fall from her mouth. I feed this dog but she must
really crave pretzels

First night

Tonight was the first Wednesday night of awaken church. It was a great
time of fellowship with the people that came. It brought back memories
when I was just a youngin' as they say here in the south, of when
Calvary sun city in el paseo Texas started. This will be a night I
won't forget, much like those nights in Texas.

Mmmmmm

One of my favorite things about Nashville is they have a krispy kreame
doughnuts. Good thing they don't have one here in Clarksville or I
guess I would have a future as a sumo wrestler.

Cooking 101

Well tonight I thought that I would try my hand at cooking some
breakfast. I figured how hard could it be.....they said it was SO easy
on tv. Well it wasn't as easy as I thought. So what happend was my
omlet turned into scrambled eggs with some omlet filling mixed in. In
the end it was an awesome mistake!! Just a side note Jenn helped me
in cooking and eating it.

Nashville

Here is a pic from last Friday night when we were in the "big city!"
We were on the walking bridge that goes over the Cumberland River and
faces downtown.

Matilda's walk

Nate and I took Matilda to the park that we had our first Unight
outreach at. There was a very large grassy area with plenty if fields
for Matilda to run through. She seemed to be a little unsure of her
surroundings at first, since this was the first time she had been out
of the appartment complex since we moved in, but she quickly got
comfortable and was soon sniffing for some wild creature to chase after.

Park outreach #2

Today was number 2 of our park outreaches in Clarksville Tennessee.
The weather outside was so beautiful and the people that came were
really nice and some were confused why we would leave our home state
to come to Clarksville. The reason for the picture is I think that
it's funny that the jenns were on the playground equipment while emery
watched. Overall great day and great fellowship.

7.17.2009

The big city

Tonight Jenn and I went to the big city with Denver Kevin Jenn and
Emery. Tiffany, Jenn M's sister, met us down there. It was cool to
see downtown Nashville. I was surprised because it was all lit up down
this particular part of downtown. I love the music scene down there
and thought that if I don't get a job I should just bring my guitar
down there and open the case and see how much money I would make.

What mom taught me

If there was anything I learned from my mom it was after the house is
in order meaning the way you like it, vacuuming is the best thing to
do. It just really makes the house feel clean and cozy. So tonight
that's what I did.....vacuumed.

Things I've never done

Well being in Tennessee I've done many things I've never done in
Albuquerque. For starters and probably the biggest is helping Kevin
start up awaken church. However there also is catching a fish and
gutting it and now the most recent.......cooking mac and cheese!!! I
have to say I did a pretty good job.

Doing what souther boys do

The other day Kevin, Denver, and I went to the river to fish. I
wasn't having much luck, but then I caught 4 fish in a row. The only
fish i kept was a bass fish. Maybe I should be a fisherman now.

Shopping for the summer

Today was a day that will go down in history for the church. Kevin,
Jenn M, Denver, and I went to SAMs club to buy food for the summer
outreaches. My Jenn couldn't come because she had to work. However, it
was awesome buying the first table for the church, the sports
equipment, and leaving awaken cards anywhere we could. Just be praying
that our first outreach this Saturday goes well and we reach out to
this community.

Moving in

Well after all this waiting the day finally came. The truck was a
beast to drive over a thousand miles with my car on the back of it,
but it was such a good feeling to finally drive up to the apartments
we will be living in.

One small step for Witiuk....

Well I had finally arrived in Tennessee. This was my first step in the
state ever. While I have never been here before it's going to be so
exciting to see what God is going to do not only in my life but in the
life of my wife Jenn. I'm a bit nervious about making the step into a
state and a city that I know all of 5 people (Kevin, Jenn, Denver, my
Jenn, and emery) but I know God is going before me and guiding me as
this new chapter in life begins. So giddy up Tennessee!!!!!

We are not home yet

Well I just finished packing up603 eastlake, the house that was Jenn
and mine first home. It was funnny to think about all the times we
shared in that home. But it was sad to leave because we have been so
blessed in it. Yet I know that God will bless us anywhere we go. It is
just a house but it will always be our first home. But I got to
thinking that we as Christians are not home yet. For there will be a
moment there be a place where we will see our savior and fall in His
embrace so lets not grow weary or content to stay. Plus moving into
heaven will be a lot easier. So now it's on to a new chapter and a
new home. God has blessed us here in Albuquerque and I know He will do
the same in cville.

Almost Home

Ariel and I just drove out of Memphis and are now on our way to
Nashville. We've driven for almost 20 hours and I am now almost home!
Kevin and Jenn have been kind (and brave) and are letting Ariel and I
stay at their home until our appartment is available. We will be
visiting my aunt, uncle, and cousins in Knoxville, TN this weekend,
and then spending a touristy day in Nashville on Monday. Ariel leaves
Tuesday morning, and Nate and our home (the moving truck) arrive
Wednesday for our big move in day! It's all really happening! I can't
believe it! Pray for safety for Nate, his dad, and Denver as they
drive out Tuesday and Wednesday. I miss New Mexico already, especially
our families, but am excited for the future God has for us here! Giddy
Up!

6.23.2009

This is it!

Almost our entire home was loaded into this truck today. We are worn
out! Today my mom and I cleaned part of our house as Nate and Denver
worked tirelessly (sp?) loading the beast of a moving truck we rented.
Apparently we don't have 26 feet of moving truck worth of house to
move. Nonetheless, things are moving along. Several amazing ladies are
coming over tomorrow to help clean and then Ariel and I head out EARLY
Thursday morning on our two day journey to Clarksville! Here we go!

6.20.2009

Less than a week!

This is my last Saturday living in Albuquerque, NM. I really can't
believe the time has gone so quickly. We've been planning and
prepairing for this move for half of a year and itbis now here. I have
my job all lined up. I start at Gateway Medical Center in Clarksville
at the ICU on July 6th. It's so strange to realize that all of this is
really happening! I leave on June 25th with Ariel and we'll be staying
with our friends and my aunt and uncle for a little bit until Nate,
our dog, and the moving van arrive on July 1...just in time to move
into our new apartment. For now, the next few days entails packing the
rest of our stuff, cleaning our rental condo, and saying our final
goodbyes to our family and friends. We're so excited and can't wait to
get out to Clarksville and begin God's work there!

A healthy heart

Calm, unusually slow nights at work always makes for an adventure!
Tonight, we decided to make sure everyone was alive and healthy,
because how can we take care of others if we ourselves are dying.
Well, it's official, and I have the paper to prove it! I have a
healthy heart! Perfect, well almost, Normal Sinus Rhythm, with a
respiratory arrythmia (very common in healthy young adults). I've
concluded, then, as I've always known, that I need to conscientiously
give my worrying hypochondriac mind over to the God who is in control
of this universe, much less, my own body! He made me and cares for me
and has had a plan for me and my health from the beginning. He is all
that matters, and it is not my earthly health that I should be
concerned with, but my spiritual health!

Change is a-comin'

Sitting here at work on one of my last lunch breaks ever in the UNMH
MICU. Working here has been such a blessing and an adventure! Just
tonight I've realized what amazing friends and co-workers I've had
that have helped to shape me into the nurse that I am today. Of course
none would be possible without my Lord Jesus. I find that He guides my
every step and thought processes to be able to care for these
extremely sick people. And now, I look ahead to the future...to caring
for the people of Clarksville TN and await with anticipation to see
what God has already prepaired me for here, to do there. I'm excited
to meet new co-workers and care for new people and most of all,
excited to see the impact that Christ will have on the lives of those
that I meet, all by being His vessle!
