Three years and counting

It's been said that a deaf husband and a blind wife are always a happy couple. Three years ago today I woke up for the last time as a single man. I ate my last single guys breakfast and then drove to the church. Since that day I have loved every minute with my wife Jenn!! Sure there have been the hard times but there have been many good ones as well. The day I said "I do" would be a day that I would never regret. She has been such a support to me and has given me such joy over the past few years we've been married. She is still as beautiful as the day we went on our first date, and her inside beauty has grown so much. What a heart she has!! I am so glad that God said in Genesis that, "it isn't good for man to be alone." I would be helpless without her. Our wedding day will be a day I'll never forget. Just the joy that we had that day and the excitement in our eyes to see what the future had instore for us. I remember sitting back stage waiting for the wedding to start and being so nervous. Then I walked out and stood at the alter waiting for Jenn having so many butterflies in my stomach. But then she turned that corner (and I think I stopped breathing for a moment because of how beautiful she looked) and then I breathed a breath of such thankfulness that she was coming to me to stand with me up at that alter and then to stand with me through the rest of our lives! It's been a blissful three years and am looking forward to many, many more years together!!!

First real New Mexican food since we've been gone! Such good green
chili! Mmmmmmm

Gettin' back to our roots

On Saturday we went back to Velocity, the mid-school youth group at
Calvary ABQ where we got started serving in church ministry. It was
such a blessing to see old friends and students. So very proud of AJ
Villegas, the current youth pastor! He's doing a fantastic job serving
the Lord and the students at Calvary! Here is AJ preaching it up!

Graduation!!

My baby sister graduated from highschool on Friday (which was also her
18th birthday)! I can't believe it! She is getting too old! But I am
SO VERY proud of her!! Congratulations Amanda! I can't wait to see the
plans the Lord has for you!!

On our way "Home"

Well, here we are...heading home to Albuquerque for a two week visit,
nearly one year after moving here to Tennessee. Man, a year is
definitely too long. It will definitely be good to get back for a
little bit. I'm excited to see family and friends that we've missed
this past year. I'm even more excited to watch my baby sister graduate
from highschool! I can't believe she's that old...I can't believe I'm
that old! It will be a great trip!! Can't wait to see all that's in
store!

What A Week

What a week it has been!  This time last week I was packing a bag ready to go to Atlanta GA. for a pastors conference with Kevin Miller. What a great time it was down there. I learned so much and it was so refreshing. I came back Friday afternoon tired but couldn't wait to hang out with all the peeps at the church.  We had a great time of fellowship that Saturday night and I set the alarm and locked the door like I always do not knowing that would be the last time I would do that. On Monday morning this was what our church and parking lot looked like. It's very sad and hard to see our building like this. So much work, time, and ministry took place within those walls and it was hard to see it under 5ft of water. However, our stuff can be replaced and ministry is not contained within the walls of a building and personally I'm more excited to see how God is going to work through all of this. While we may have less than what we started with when we came out here last year I feel that God is going to bless us and show us His faithfulness more than we have ever seen!  Thanks for all the prayers and support it truly is a comfort in this time.
